About the Play

Put Your Lips Together is a surreal neon-noir about the experience of women in the workplace. It revolves around four strangers who cross paths following a candlelight vigil for a young woman killed after reporting harassment by her coworker. As they seek shelter from an unsettling storm, their conversation offer much needed space to escape routines and commiserate about their lives. As they continue meeting each month in secret, troubling commonalities are unearthed about how they’re each treated at work. Within the glow of an empty diner, a question emerges that sets a dangerous plan in motion: Could a group of strangers work together to blow the whistle on each other’s toxic workplace?

The Playwright would like to acknowledge the Canada Council for the Arts and Woodland Farm artist residency, as well as Citadel Theatre for their generous support.
