The 4th annual SkirtsAfire herArts Festival is gearing up for another fantastic weekend of A-Line events, March 10-13, 2016 in the heart of Alberta Avenue (118 Ave). SkirtsAfire features the work of women in theatre, music, dance, visual art, comedy and spoken word. Artists and audience come together to share in these powerful, moving, insightful and entertaining performances, exhibitions and workshops.
The Dirrty Show
Take two women and give them a guitar and a keyboard. Imagine hearing their voices singing intricate harmonies and catchy melodies mixed with raunchy, hilarious and sometimes shocking lyrics. This is what you’ll get with The Dirrty Show: double R-Rated musical comedy.
This duo has been guiding the minds of their audience’s straight into the gutter since 2011. Onstage they banter and connect with such ease and obvious synergy. The result is a mix of scripted comedy and improvised banter with a side of quirky humour that people enjoy as much as the music itself.
The Dirrty Show has taken the stage at some of the top comedy shows in Canada including Toronto Yuk Yuk’s Nubian Show, and were the winners of 2014 FunnyFest Calgary. Internationally they have performed in Australia (Melbourne’s Comics Lounge, Melbourne International Comedy Festival), and more music venues and festivals than they can count. Their live show has taken on its own persona with dramatic flair – over the top dance moves, ridiculous faces, and lewd gestures. The Dirrty Show will leave audiences laughing, sexually enlightened, and maybe a bit drunk.
The Dirrty Show will be featured in the A-Line Variety Show, March 10, 2016 at 7:30pm and March 11 at 9:15 in The Cabaret space at the Alberta Avenue Community League (9210 118 Ave).
