Join The Shoe Project, a free program to empower women by sharing their stories of coming to Canada. You can collaborate with theatre professionals to write your story based on a pair of shoes. Once completed, the stories will be presented at a public performance during the SkirtsAfire Festival in March 2025.

SkirtsAfire is producing The Shoe Project at Walterdale Theatre for 2025, in partnership with YWCA Edmonton and Newcomer Centre. SkirtsAfire acknowledges Workshop West Playwrights’ Theatre for being the first organization to bring the Edmonton initiative of “The Shoe Project” to fruition in 2021.
