The 4th annual SkirtsAfire herArts Festival is gearing up for another fantastic weekend of A-Line events, March 10-13, 2016 in the heart of Alberta Avenue (118 Ave). SkirtsAfire features the work of women in theatre, music, dance, visual art, comedy and spoken word. Artists and audience come together to share in these powerful, moving, insightful and entertaining performances, exhibitions and workshops.

The Secretaries

The Secretaries are an Edmonton based rock n’ roll band featuring the musical brilliance of Amy van Keeken (guitar, vocals), Colleen Brown (bass, vocals), Natasha Fryzuk (drum, vocals) Darren Radbourne (coronet, vocals), Greg Hutchinson (trumpet, vocals), and Miss Mannered (keys, percussion, vocals).

The Secretaries combine dreamy, vocal harmonies with dark, indie sensibilities. Disco and discord find a seamless, spectral partnership in the heart of this band – a sound brightened by intermittent horns and atmospheric synth. Maybe you’ll cry, but probably you’ll dance.
