Members of the Casino Committee play a crucial role in the Festival’s success. Casino funding is one of our largest revenue sources. Casinos host charity organizations such as SkirtsAfire approximately every two years and this is regulated by the AGLC. 

Our next casino date is in 2023 (exact date to be confirmed). At this time the entire board wholeheartedly jumps in to support the Casino Committee during a fantastic weekend of volunteering. We work hard… and we have so much fun!  

As part of the Casino Committee team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute in one or more of the following activities: 

  • Scheduling key committee roles and volunteer positions. 
  • Providing the AGLC with required documentation to support SkirtsAfire’s gaming licence. This information is time sensitive and detailed.
  • Contacting volunteers and keeping them informed following up to the event and after. 

Things really start rolling about 4-6 months before the scheduled casino date. SkirtsAfire hires a Casino Advisor who helps the committee navigate the casino fundraising process. The Advisor actively provides information and guidance before, during and after the event. Although the demands of the casino committee appear to peak during the casino dates, there are some interesting projects that are part of the committee tasks.

AGLC will provide online training sessions for the Committee members in advance.
